The crew enjoy working with the sailing community designing, renovating and redecorating boats, yachts, yacht clubs and boat houses in both the Caribbean islands and those in the Solent! 

As as sailor and the current Rear Commodore House at Brighton Marina YC Caryl is well positioned to understand the complexities of yacht club amenities and design.

BRIGHTON MARINA YACHT CLUB

BMYC is situated on a floating dock in the Marina on the West Quay. The design concept was to deviate from the traditional wooden panels and high gloss varnish of a classic yacht club, and create a more contemporary environment. Vintage nautical memorabilia and a mix of fabrics and furniture contribute to the unique setting of the club. Old burgees were sewn onto canvas panels to break the room up but to allow flexibility to open or close up the space which is host to sailing events, parties and committee meetings.

We commissioned PHG Cowes to source and specify all the material for the interior fit-out including plumbing, lighting and finishes. We also supplied all the interior furniture and fixtures, and project managed the installation.

BOAT BLODWEN 

Blodwen is a 24' Norwegian motor boat that was commissioned for use in the Isle of Wight. Its hull is particularly suitable for the waters of the Solent. We customised the dark grey hull colour and specified cotton-like Sunbrella upholstery with a contrast stitching and leatherette dash-board, make it a unique addition to the fleet. The Blodwen logo was designed so that Blodwen is wearing red clogs on the port-side and green ones on the starboard.

From St Tropez to St Barths, from a 1911 Fife classic to 100' San Lorenzo motor yacht we have been involved in multiple boat renovations.

The most memorable was Sirocco a classic wooden ketch, built in 1938, and won by Errol Flynn in a card game, it is currently the flag ship for the fashion company Blanc Bleu. It was reputedly the cause of his downfall from Hollywood when he had an affair with a very young lady on board...
